RecycleSmart: Household Hazardous Waste & Pesticide Spring Collection

Grand Traverse County Resource Recovery Department (RecycleSmart) will conduct the Spring Household Hazardous Waste & Pesticide collection on Thursday, March 28, from 1:00 to 6:45 pm. 

Changes in Mortgage Rates

  •  30-year fixed-rate mortgages: averaged 3.42 percent, with an average 0.7 point, rising from last week’s 3.38 percent average. A year ago at this time, 30-year fixed-rate mortgages averaged 3.98 percent. The record low for 30-year rates is 3.31 percent, set on Nov. 21, 2012.
  •  15-year fixed-rate mortgages: averaged 2.71 percent, with an average 0.7 point, rising from last week’s 2.66 percent average.

Milton Township, Antrim County, New Septic Inspection and Property Transfer Ordinance Rules

Effective October 6, 2012, Milton Township has new Ordinances regarding all residential sale transactions concerning septic inspection and propety transfer. Use the NWHealth Dept application.

State Rail Plan Could Bring Passenger Service to Traverse City

Beware of Rental Scams Posted on Craigslist

Consumers and REALTORS® across the country have reported rental listings posted on Craigslist which secure a deposit up front but the property is not a legitimate rental.
